ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಯುವ ದಿನ - ಜನವರಿ ೧೨ - ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ವಿವೇಕಾನಂದರ ಜನ್ಮದಿನ

 ಅಪ್ರತಿಮ ದೇಶಭಕ್ತ, ಸಂನ್ಯಾಸಿ, ವಿರಕ್ತ, ತೇಜೋವಂತ, ಯುವಶಕ್ತಿಯ ಚೇತನ, ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಮಕೃಷ್ಣ ಪರಮಹಂಸರ ಪ್ರಿಯ ಶಿಷ್ಯ, ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ನರೇನ್, ಶಾರದಾ ಮಾತೆಯ ಪುತ್ರ, ಭಾರತೀಯತೆಯ ಸಂಕೇತ, ಜನ್ಮದಿನ ಇಂದು. ಜಗತ್ತಿಗೆ ಸನಾತನ ಧರ್ಮವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಹೇಳಿದ, ಭಾರತೀಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾರಿದ, ಶ್ರೀ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ವಿವೇಕಾನಂದರ  ಅವತಾರವಾಗಿ ೧೪೯ ವರ್ಷವಾಗಿದೆ (ಜನವರಿ ೧೨, ೧೮೬೩).  ಇಂತಹ ಮಹಾನ್‌ ತೇಜಸ್ವಿಯನ್ನು ನೆನೆವ ದಿನ ಹಾಗೂ ಅದಕ್ಕೆಂದೇ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ 'ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಯುವ ದಿನವೆಂದು' ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ.  ಇಂದಿನ ಶಕ್ತಿಯೇ ಯುವಶಕ್ತಿ ಎಂದು ನುಡಿದಿದ್ದ ವಿವೇಕಾನಂದರಿಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ನಮನಗಳು.

ಅವರ ಕೆಲವು ಧೀರೋದಾತ್ತ ನುಡಿಗಳನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಮರಿಸೋಣ. ಒಂದೊಂದೂ ಸಹ ಎಂತಹ ಚೇತನವನ್ನು ಕೊಡುತ್ತದೆ, ಅಲ್ಲವೇ?

Never think there is anything impossible for the soul. It is the greatest heresy to think so. If there is sin, this is the only sin; to say that you are weak, or others are weak.

Our duty is to encourage every one in his struggle to live up to his own highest idea, and strive at the same time to make the ideal as near as possible to the Truth.

The will is not free - it is a phenomenon bound by cause and effect - but there is something behind the will which is free.

The world is the great gymnasium where we come to make ourselves strong.

You cannot believe in God until you believe in yourself.

Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life - think of it, dream of it, live on idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.
